University
I'm a third-year student at Griffith University, studying a double degree in Mechanical Engineering and Computer Science. Throughout my life, I’ve always had a strong interest in how things work, both in the physical world and the digital one so combining these two fields felt like the perfect fit. My motivation is to use my engineering skills to develop real world components while leveraging my computer science knowledge to improve systems on the software side. I’m driven by the idea of creating solutions that are both practical and innovative.

Career
Alongside my studies, I work for as a NDT technician (non-destructive testing) that specialises in ultrasonics. I frequently test high energy pipework at power stations in search for cracks and structural flaws. This work has given me a real appreciation for how vital precision and safety are in engineering. One of my favourite parts of the job, however, is designing and 3D printing custom scanner components to enable scanning in areas that were previously difficult to reach. I also enjoy the reporting aspect of the job, which has encouraged me to write scripts and tools to automate repetitive tasks and improve workflow efficiency.
Personal
Outside of university and work, I’m someone who loves being hands on and spending time outdoors. I ride motorbikes and go four-wheel driving whenever I get the chance, all the way from bush to beach. I also love tinkering, which often takes up my whole weekend. I enjoy the challenge of figuring things out and making small improvements wherever I can, whether that’s under the hood or in a piece of code. For me, engineering and computer science aren’t just about a career, they’re tools I use to explore my passions.
